Historic bi-polar 4-blade “C-frame” electric fan manufactured by Edison Mfg. Co. in Orange, NJ.
The fan is in excellent condition, and it still works well, as you can see by clicking the video link at the end of the listing.
Original enamel on the cast iron frame, with original decorations and original brass fittings. Fan cage is original and correct, with no bent struts. Fan blade is also original and correct, with no issues.
Motor windings are original, and all of them are continuous.
The cord that connects the fan to battery has been updated with a vintage style replacement.
The fan was originally powered by LaLande battery cells. It includes an early original Lalande cell, inside which is hidden a modern, rechargeable 4-volt battery with sufficient current to power the fan to “windy” levels. Please note: the rechargeable 4-volt battery can be shipped only to buyers in the USA.
Fan is approximately 12″ high, with a 9″ blade span.
