1912 Clapp Eastham Type D “De Luxe” Radio Tuner

$1,850.00

Early Clapp Eastham Type D “Deluxe” radio tuner. The tuner is quite scarce and is not to be confused with the smaller, more common “Blitzen” tuner the company manufactured throughout the early teens. Even more noteworthy is that this Type D tuner has an engraved panel, with binding post connections in the lower right and lower left corners. It’s signed by the maker on the secondary adjustment knob, and it’s mounted on a thick, heavy marble base.

Condition is very good, and with the apparent exception of three wires (one sheathed in red rubber, the other two sheathed in white rubber) the apparatus is original throughout. All binding posts and binding post nuts are original to the tuner, and no binding post nuts are missing.

Marble base is original, and the marble itself is in good shape. No damage to the panel, no repairs to the panel. All panel nomenclature is original and legible.

All coils turn easily, and all windings are secure on the forms.

A nice example of an extremely rare early radio tuner.

Measures approximately 7″ wide by 7″ high by 8″ deep. The tuner weighs approximately 8 lb. and the shipping weight will be about 11 lb.
