1923 Atwater Kent 4207 Breadboard Radio * Factory-Built Model 7 On Cabinet Board

An uncommon Model 7 variant. The radio is similar to Pooley versions of the Model 7, but the board is more ornate, with 1/2″ binding on all sides.  It was probably constructed for one or more Philadelphia-area cabinet makers.

Condition is good throughout.  A non-factory filament switch was added to the top rear side of the board, between the Type 11 Tuner and the 1st RF tube island, but the radio is otherwise factory-assembled and factory-wired in its entirety.

The potting tar in the TA island is undisturbed, and the components inside the TA are original. All paint is original and stable, and the bakelite is in excellent condition, with no damage.

Both AF transformers and both RF transformers are open.

The uppermost turn on the Type 11 tuner’s primary winding has pulled away from the shell, but the balance of the coil is secured to the shell, and the secondary can be still be rotated a full 360 degrees.

Includes 5 brass base, tipped display-type tubes with open filaments.

The radio is offered for historical purposes only, with no assurances stated or implied that it’s still suitable for broadcast reception.
