1903 Columbia Q Cylinder Phonograph In Craft-Built Cabinet With Pegged Record Case

$750.00

Ships Worldwide

Unique Columbia Q Graphophone on a handmade walnut base with a matching, latching walnut lid. Sold caseless when new for $5, the machine’s proud owner obviously had more in the way of cabinetry skills than cash, and the results are delightful: phonograph meets folk art.

The phonograph runs well, has a good reproducer, and comes with a matching, equally primitive handmade record case (also walnut, it would appear) that holds 25 cylinders on 25 handmade pegs.

The phonograph’s cone horn is original, and it’s in excellent condition, with glossy original black paint and scattered minor marks and dings consistent with age and authenticity.
