Monarch Model D 35MM projector and lamphouse, manufactured in Chicago ca. 1908.
Perhaps the only surviving example, it is complete, correct, and still capable of running film through the gate. Moreover, it’s original from one end of the board to the other, including the projection head, the lamp house, the upper and lower magazines, both shutters, the reels, and both lenses (a projection lens and a stereopticon lens)
Condition overall is good, with surface rust on the lamphouse and other larger metal surfaces. The chain drive mechanism still advances smoothly, and both front shutters rotate as the crank is turned. The lamp house burner assembly is complete.
Original baseboard, original legs, original hardware.
The projector can be set up with or without the lower magazine, and with or without the legs, depending on space availability.
The outfit measures approximately 29″ x 9″. The projector will be partially disassembled and shipped in multiple packages for safe transit.
