Introduced by Victor in 1906, the Victor III replaced the Victor Monarch in the company’s phonograph line-up, bringing a large, handsome, full-featured disc machine into thousands of American households desiring to own a reliable phonograph that could be played regularly but whose purchase — though significant — wouldn’t drain the family’s bank account. The III was quieter (considerably) than the Monarch, but its motor was just as large, and — like the Monarch — the III could play multiple records without the need for rewinding. When new, the Victor III (with a metal horn) sold for $40, almost twice the price of a Victor II, at that time the most popular Victor phonograph on the market.

This Victor III is original throughout, and — as you can see in the pictures — its condition is excellent.

Original cabinet finish is smooth, with no crazing. All wood joints are secure. Mechanism is in excellent condition, and the phonograph runs quietly.

The back-bracket is clean, with glossy original enamel and prominent original decorations. Original nickel plating everywhere — on the brake, the turntable rim, the back-bracket bolts, the tonearm, etc.

The 20″ Victor Smooth-Sided oak horn is likewise in excellent condition and is certainly worthy of the machine it complements. Like the phonograph, it’s original and it’s pristine. Interior and exterior surfaces are smooth everywhere, and the finish is of course original, as is the Nipper decal. The nickel-plated collar still locks snugly into the elbow, and the patent data is blind-stamped into the original horn collar.

Victor Exhibition reproducer is in excellent condition. It looks great, and it sounds great.

An exceptional Victor III in all respects. The new owner will not be disappointed.
