1922 Kennedy 281 Radio & 521 Amplifier With Magnavox R3-B Horn * Everything Tested & Working
An early radio Trifecta.
All 3 components are from 1922. All 3 components would have been sold together when new. All 3 components still work.
Condition is excellent. Radio and amplifier have clean bakelite panels, with no chips, no scars, no filled holes, no issues. Both chassis are clean, and the coil windings on the radio are secure. Original AF transformers in the amp (both are good).
Mahogany cabinets are clean, and their finish is original. Both are blind-stamped “C” on the upper rear edge.
Tubes are tipped deForest DV Audions. They have excellent emissions and have been tested in the radio and amp.
Magnavox horn has its original paint and its original decal, and its original paper license on the underside of the base. Both coils are good.
If you’re looking for a complete, working receiving set from the earliest days of broadcasting, this outfit would be hard to top.
Operation requires a longwire outdoor antenna and a regulated DC power supply (an ARBEIII is recommended).
