Beautiful Magnavox AC-2 amplifier manufactured in Oakland CA in the early 1920’s. The amp is working and comes with two good brass base, tipped rainbow 01A tubes.
Condition is excellent. Glossy, undamaged bakelite panel; clean, straight, rust-free chassis; excellent original cabinet decal with virtually no wear evident on it; clean original finish, etc.
Original transformers, original rheostats, original binding post nuts, original switches, etc. Both transformers have good windings; both rheostats have continuous stators.
When hooked up to an appropriate DC power supply (such as an ARBEIII) and an appropriate input source (such as a 1920’s battery radio or an early crystal radio) the amplifier will power a high impedance 1920’s horn or cone loudspeaker.
