Large, beautiful dial telegraph manufactured around the turn of the last century by Hauger & Pescheux in Paris.
The apparatus is original throughout, and the electromagnet, clockwork and chime are working. When the circuit is closed, the chime sounds (loudly) and the dial pointer advances one step.
This was likely used in a rail station or a department store with an identical apparatus located remotely.
The housing is made of wood, with numbers and what they signify printed along the periphery of the dial.
