C. 1916 Deforest Audion Radio Detector With Control Box
Early deForest tubular Audion detector mounted in a fairly large unsigned control box. The control box is most likely homemade and clearly patterned after a deForest RJ-8.
Condition is very good throughout. The control box’s panel is clean, with no dings, no scratches, no damage. Controls turn easily, and all parts are original ca. 1916.
Cabinet is in good condition, with its original finish intact.
Deforest tubular Audion is in excellent condition. The filament tests open, but the four plate and filament leads are still in good shape, and they’re long enough to reach the binding posts on the panel.
Measures approximately 15″ x 6″ x 6″.
