Early and very uncommon Eclipse radio coherer manufactured in Chicago ca. 1905 by electro-mechanical industrialist Frank S. Betz.
There’s a chip on one end of the glass coherer tube, but the overall condition of the apparatus is very good. The decoherer is intact, and the electro-magnet coils are clean and tightly wound.
The bell and binding post assemblies are original, and the plating on the parts is still reasonably good.
Blind-stamped “BETZ” on the underside of the base.
Measures approximately 8″ x 4″ x 2″.
