1898 Edison Standard Cylinder Phonograph * 2-Clip Lid * Low 3-Digit Serial Number

$1,275.00

Nice two-clip Standard with a very low serial number, an early crank, brass governor weights, a beaded cabinet, an Automatic reproducer with a blank sidearm, etc.

Condition is very good throughout. Glossy original enamel on the bedplate, with prominent original gold pinstriping. Clean mechanism, with undamaged gears.

No damage or repairs to the casting.

Very nice cabinet, with its original finish intact. No cracks in the lid, no cracks in the baseboard. Lid latching hardware is in good working order.

Reproducer has a good ball stylus. It has an improvised pin securing the stylus bar, and it’s been rebuilt with a copper diaphragm, but it’s otherwise original and correct throughout.

The phonograph runs well and sounds very good for such an early machine.
