Radio coherer detector made in Boston ca. 1902-1905 by scientific equipment manufacturer L.E. Knott. This is perhaps the earliest Knott coherer detector and it’s certainly the least seldom seen. It has a rectangular sheet-metal covering over the de-coherer’s magnet coils, with the company’s name blind-stamped into the surface of the covering.
The apparatus is original throughout, with no damage evident anywhere. Working condition is unknown.
Measures approximately 7″ long x 3 1/2″ wide x 2 1/2″ high. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be approximately 4 lb.
