1905 Victor IV Phonograph In Oak * Last Version Of The MS
Uncommon oak-cased Victor IV phonograph — the second and last version of the Monarch Special, with a large, tiered, smooth-sided base and turned wood corners. Its understated Romanesque elegance stands in stark contrast to the early MS’s Rococo design.
The phonograph is beautiful, and it’s original throughout, with a clean finish that exhibits minimal wear. The back-bracket is in excellent condition, with beautiful original decorations and original enamel. The nickel-plated fittings are clean, the original turntable felt exhibits average wear, The ID plate is clean and legible, the brake is working properly, the horn elbow is nearly perfect, with no dings or dents, the governor and brass barrel motor are working properly, the original round-hole Victor Exhibition reproducer sounds great, and it’s a seldom seen variant of the Exhibition, with a spring-release needle chuck. The 24″ long Victor “J” horn is in excellent condition, with its original Nipper decal still intact.
Original 3-spring brass barrel motor is in good condition, and the machine plays very well. Overall, a striking, all-original MS that will be ready to enjoy as soon as it arrives.
Base (excluding back bracket) measures approximately 14″ x 14″ x 8″.
