$1,500.00
Ships Worldwide.
Seldom seen first version of Grebe’s CR-5 regenerative radio. It features an exposed tube, a rheostat embedded in the panel, and an early wood tuner.
The radio has some period modifications, most notably the addition of two AF transformers. In addition, struts were added to support the extra chassis weight, a jack was added to the panel, and latches were added to the back of the cabinet so that it could be easily opened when tube replacement was necessary.
The panel rheostat has been supplement with a conventional rheostat on the panel’s back side. The front wiper does not make contact with the stator; the rear wiper does.
Both brass base tipped 01A tubes inside the cabinet have good emissions. The early peach glass 201 tube made by the Westinghouse Lamp Co. has an open filament.
