$2,850.00
Tested & Working
Complete, correct, untouched 1923 Atwater Kent Model 3 breadboard radio.
The radio is just as it was shipped from the factory, with an uninstalled Variometer and no extra drill-outs in the board to accommodate a 3rd component (see the original Atwater Kent advertisement for the Models 1, 2 & 3 offered with an optional Variometer). Included with the unmounted Variometer are the 4 brass screws with which to mount it (should you wish to install it).
The radio has been tested, and it still works with both a loudspeaker and headphones.
Condition is excellent.
The early orange/red mahogany board retains its original finish and exhibits normal crazing consistent with age and authenticity. The wire on the tuners is still tightly wound, and there are no stains anywhere. The paint on the TA island is original and in excellent condition. Undisturbed original potting tar in the TA, and both original transformers are good. The wiring on the underside of the board is pristine, as are the staples. All four feet are original.
Comes as pictured, with 3 good tipped tubes — a 1 amp detector tube and two 1/4 amp amplifier tubes.
If you’re an Atwater Kent breadboard enthusiast and a stickler for authenticity, you can not get any closer to factory original than this.
