Beautiful, working ca. 1923 Concert Modulator omni-directional horn loudspeaker manufactured by the Manhattan Electrical Supply Co. (MESCO). The speaker is unique, with bentwood bombe facades atop heavily carved grills, a tiered base, and 4 horn ports (one on each side of the cabinet) fed by a single driver with an adjustable tone/volume control.
Condition is excellent. The speaker has been refinished, restored, and set-tested with several 1920’s battery radios. The volume/tone/diaphragm control on the driver is a bit stiff, but it can still be manipulated. The speaker does in fact work as designed, with audio output coming from all four horn ports. There’s a chip in the lower left rear corner of the lowest tier in the base, but the cabinet is otherwise in excellent condition, with a stunning gradient finish.
Approximately 15″ high x 12″ wide x 8″ deep. Shipping weight approximately 18 lb.
