1920 Z-Nith Paragon Regenerator * Chicago Radio Laboratory * Historic 1st Zenith Radio

$7,500.00

Ships Worldwide.

For the Zenith collector interested in acquiring the first and arguably most important Zenith radio ever made, submitted for your consideration is the Z-Nith Paragon, later renamed the Z-Nith Regenerator.

The Paragon was manufactured in 1920 by R.H.G. Mathews and Karl Hassel at their fledgling company, the Chicago Radio Laboratory (CRL), as Zenith was known at the time.

The two-digit serial number on this example is among the lowest known, and it is quite possible that the radio was assembled on Hassel’s kitchen table, as were most of the earliest Paragon sets.

Condition is excellent, and the radio is clean, complete and correct — panel, knobs, cabinet, cabinet finish, pointers, tap switches, binding post assemblies, panel engraving, the metal panel tag, the metal CRL tag, the panel screws, etc.

Everything is original; nothing has been repaired or restored. There is no damage anywhere, and the radio is as close to “museum quality” as you’re likely to find.
