1923 Radiola VI 3-Stage RF Amplified Broadcast Receiver

$700.00

Offered by RCA as the apartment dweller’s alternative to the Radiola V, the Radiola VI featured an RF-amplified tuning circuit that required an indoor loop antenna but not an outdoor longwire. The radio was an expensive, notoriously poor performer, and no amount of sales & marketing fluff could overcome the public’s rejection of it.

The condition of this example is excellent throughout. The wood-grained metal is clean, bright, unscarred and richly detailed. The brown paint on the interior of the metal housing covers is clean and original, with no blotchy areas and nearly perfect original oval decals.

Both chassis halves are free of rust and corrosion. All wiring is original, and all of it is straight and correct. The original fabric tube shocks are still resilient, the ceramic tube sockets are glossy, the small hardware is clean and uncorroded, the wiring is still tightly soldered at all joints.

The knobs and dials are original and without issue. The GE audio transformers are original, as are all of the GE RF transformers. All transformers test good, as do the tubes.

Base and lid are both in excellent condition. No damage to any of the corners, and the original Radiola VI metal tag is still present on the base.

A seldom seen Radiola in exceptional condition.
