Abbotwares designed and manufactured figural/statuary radios in Los Angeles during the 1940’s. Most of them were equine-themed, and all of them have become highly collectible. The company’s best known radio is probably “Lady Godiva,” but the Abbotwares radio you rarely encounter — in any condition — is this one: Cowgirl on a Rearing Horse.

Condition of the radio is excellent, as you can see in photographs, and the radio still works when connected to a 20′ wire antenna.

Casting is clean, with bright original colors and an exquisite original patina. The base is likewise clean, and the controls are all working properly. Original cover on the underside of the base, and the original line cord, with its white plaskon plug.

The radio measures approximately 17″ high x 14″ wide x 5″ deep. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be approximately 20 lb.
